CHILDHOOD

Akula was born in a small provincial industrial town. She was raised by her mother and grandmother for most of her childhood. In the first years of Akula's life she had a father but he was a big threat for her and her mother because he is alcoholic and he got into debt a lot. As a result her family was poor and there were not enough money for many things such as clothes, home furniture, toys and sometimes even food. Mostly Akula got clothes from her mother or grandmother who knitted a lot. Akula's mother worked a lot in heavy production to support her so Akula spend time with grandma or father. Akula often witnessed father's abuse towards her mother, sometimes she herself was a victim when she stayed with him. At the end Akula and her mother ran away from him but he continue bothered them for a long time.

TEENAGE YEARS

Getting older Akula began to look for ways to earn extra money. At the summer she handed out flyers on the street or pasted them on bulletin boards, later later she worked as a loader in stalls or small local stores but most of the time she didn't get anything for her work. In school she was a big troublemaker: since middle school, her grades have been getting lower and lower and Akula began to skip classes more and more. Besides, she participated in a lot of fights and her mother was very often called to school about her daughter's behavior. Akula's mother became very strict towards her because of this but she couldn't influence her daughter because she was still working hard and Akula was often left alone at home at her disposal. Akula graduated from school with low grades and enrolled in a local college where she will study for a short time because she will move to US soon.
